Paula Chanda- Executive Director & Owner

Paula and her husband, Bob, had a dream to do theatre in Lubbock,TX. They wanted to have jobs where they could do what they love and be a family at the same time. With that vision in mind, they started Hub Theatre Group and Hub Performing Arts School. After a successful summer camp in July 2007, the school was launched and celebrated its first semester with 150 students! She now leaves Hub in the talented hands of her daughter, Keely Umstot.

Paula holds a Masters Degree in Education and has completed all of the coursework for a PhD in Fine Arts. She has taught theatre to all age groups for over 20 years. She is a nationally award winning director. Paula knows the world of talented kids as she performed professionally as a child and has a talented daughter herself. She understands theatre from all sides, as an educator, performer and director. She has had the honor of performing some dream roles: Diana in Next to Normal, Jessie in Night’ Mother, Joan in Small Mouth Sounds and Sylvia in Sylvia. She has directed over 100 musicals and plays for kids and adults.
