Our Mission

IGNITING HEARTS & IMAGINATIONS

Hub Performing Arts School exists to IGNITE THE MINDS & TALENT of Young Performers through excellent PERFORMING ARTS TRAINING, LIFE CHANGING PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES & BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD AROUND THEM.

We are committed to developing young artists through an ACTING BASED approach developed through our 20 YEARS of working with kids.

We don't believe in creating stars but rather being an integral part of the development of AMAZING HUMAN BEINGS.

We STRONGLY BELIEVE in the POWER OF THE PERFORMING ARTS TO TRANSFORM LIVES.

We know not all of our students will go on to be performers, but KNOW THAT WITHOUT A DOUBT the skills & experiences they gain while they are with us will help them be SUCCESSFUL WHEREEVER THEY GO AND WHATEVER THEY CHOOSE TO DO!

FOUNDER- FREDDIE GERSHON

Paula and her husband, Bob, had a dream to do theatre in Lubbock. They wanted to have jobs where they could do what they love and be a family at the same time. With that vision in mind, they started Hub Theatre Group and Hub Performing Arts School. After a successful summer camp in July 2007, the school was launched and celebrated its first semester with 150 students! Paula's goal is to provide performance training and performance opportunities for talented performers in the South Plains.

Paula has completed all of the coursework for a PhD in Fine Arts at Texas Tech University.   She knows the world of talented kids as she performed professionally as a child and has a talented daughter herself. She understands theatre from all sides, as a performer and director. She has performed multiple times on the Texas Tech stage and directed for Tech, as well as performed and directed with Hub Theatre Group (Hub's sister organization). She has taught theatre to all age groups for over 20 years. She currently teaches theatre to kindergarten through high school at All Saints Episcopal School where her high school one act team are STATE CHAMPIONS! Her vision is to see Hub Performing Arts School develop into a place where students of all ages can come and explore their talents and abilities and realize their fullest potential.

A Message From

Our Executive Director

We live in an ever changing world & the current environment has taught us that we should take nothing for granted & that if we love what we do, we must adapt and find new ways to do that thing.

Teaching & directing kids has always been my dream & passion. Corona virus has made me look at how we do things & confirmed my commitment to continue teaching and directing!

WE HAVE GONE ONLINE! What a journey! What a learning curve! In order to continue to serve our students & their families, we moved to an online format to conduct our lessons and rehearsals & will have our final performances in VIDEO FORMAT! Scenes have been recorded through zoom! Students recorded themselves for solos & duets.

We are seeking the advice of MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS on a weekly basis to make the decisions that are SAFE FOR OUR STUDENTS, THEIR FAMILIES & OUR COMMUNITY! June camps will be held online & we will make a decision about July camps as our advisors guide us it is safe to hold camps in person again.
